I think that in the right context nudity is very empowering! And in truth I would encourage my friends to go skinny dipping or whatever to enjoy their own nudity while also being in a group and safe. But I dont want to see some of my friends naked and I do t want most of them to see me naked. So there are places where it would just be damaging.

Different things empower different people.

I do feel empowered by my own nudity. I grew up in a relatively nudist household, so I always saw nude bodies as natural and not a big deal. It helped me overcome some of my own issues with my body.

Now, some important moments for me involving nudity:
- At 16 my mom took me to my first nude beach. It had such a nice impact on me that now I frequent that very beach during the summer.
- At 18 I went to my first GoToplessDay rally in NYC and marched with a bunch of men and women.
- at 22 I modeled nude for the first time. I did it first for a life drawing, then for a photographer. I saw myself in a new light and fell in love with it.

There's an element of internal motivation to it. If you're using nudity to attract men because you think that's all you have to offer then it's not empowering.

If you feel confident and you see nudity as an expression of your confidence then it's absolutely empowering.
