Do you think lingerie empowers women's bodies?

My sister loves wearing lingerie because she says she feels really good about her herself and feels more feminine. I like wearing lingerie too, i feel more sexy. I'm a feminist and sex positive so i see nothing wrong with nudity or lingerie. I'm not those stupid femi-nazis who want to kill men, i like men. I think lingerie empowers women but also at the same degrades them. Wearing lingerie empowers women because it looks sexy, feels great and more confident and yes it does look more feminine and can make any woman feel good about herself. But i think it also degrades them because the lingerie can become tasteless, more dangerous, and make women be seen as sexual objects rather than respected. But I'm more in favor of lingerie empowering women. And let's be honest if i wanted my boyfriend to wash the dishes, all i have to is wear lingerie and he'll do it. I can pay my own bills, take of care myself, being independent, make my own decisions and love lingerie. Femi-nazis would say like, "it's created by men to bring us down, to oppress us and blah blah blah." Rather than to be proud of our bodies and if we want to feel sexier wearing a thong and corset, then we can!

As a guy who has avidly consumed porn for 20 years, I say this:
Women are objectified by men who objectify them, because of who the man is, and not because of what she does.
These men will objectify any woman. They do not due it because of how she looks, or because of the influence of porn on his brain, or anything else. What he objectifies them AS might be influenced by that, but not his behavior itself.

Men who will objectify can not be kept from doing so. Eliminate all the porn in the world, put women in burqas, and these kinds of guys will still be pigs.

And guys who do not objectify do not objectify. He sees you in lingerie, and you are still a person. A very sexy person, in that moment, and he loves what he sees, but you are not stripped of every characteristic in his mind and reduced to a sex doll.

I think many women confuse empowerment with confidence. You love the way you look, you feel good in your skin, therefore your self-confidence increases. Empowerment means to have power over others and unless a guy sees your lingerie I doubt you'll have that much power over him. Either way it's incredibily sexy to see a woman who is confident about her looks. Such women are very attractive to us even if they're nowhere near the Victoria Secret's angels. ;)

i dont think there's any actual power in being sexy. you have to rely on a guy finding you sexy. which can be pleasant but its not a power like physical or mental strength or insight or respect organizing, etc. its a joke that beauty is power its the opposite bc women waste valuable time mental energy and creativity on something that is fleeting and effects no actual change in the world.

being proud of course;f is great but wayyyyyyyy too much emphasis placed on female aesthetics, its a weakness. the strength is in confidence,. obviously if confidence is altered based on clothing material its not real confidence.

i think organization education philosophizing working out muscle training martial arts traveling knowing multiple languages being open minded self respect assertiveness conviction compassion courageous acts ---empowrs women,.

i think lingerie can be fun, and thats great for the event itself but there's no long lasting power.

My honest opinion.. is that women who wear lingerie look hot... women work so hard to look good... more than they should... I love a woman in Lingerie... lingerie is my kryptonite
