or that should not even matter? By dressing poorly do you believe other people will perceive you as not a serious person even if you are not, but you know image is the first thing that enters a person eye when seeing a person for miliseconds and from those mili seconds, your brain immediately form an idea of that person and still even if you get to meet that person more in the process and still that person dress poorly, Do you still think if that person is a public figure they should make an effort to improve the looks? Even if that person is the most gorgeous or handsome person on the planet, the moment the person dress poorly, all that attractiveness goes down the drain for the poorly choice of clothes, especially when in this century looks and shallow things, seem to be more important than other stuff.

I ask myself What is so wrong to dress well? Is it a crime to dress accordingly? Why it is more aceptable to dress terribly than to dress nicely?

Many people will disagree and say looks does not matter but does it really? I also was taught by my parents that you always have to be up to the other person, if that other person dress terrible you have to be better than that other person not at the same level.

When I say public figure it can apply to any person who holds a public position either celebrities, public wokers, journalists, etc etc. But I understand when I meant public figure people think just celebs and movie stars.

Dressing well is incredibly important for all types of public figures. I went to a doctor's office where a Gen Z chick was the receptionist. She was wearing a crop top and yoga pants. Totally not professional and made me have a lower opinion about the office.

They only say that as an excuse to wear whatever they want without consequences. However, there always are consequences for everything you do. Including consequences for the way you dress. People who dress well typically are better received than those who do not.

I get stopped in the street all the time for the way I dress, especially by women, saying how nice I look and that they wished more people dressed the way I do.

I think looks do matter, but context matters too. I don't want a member of Congress wearing what the person in the photo is wearing, but if a celebrity wants to, that's fine. Likewise, if I'm in a courtroom, I don't want the judge wearing athleisure or my kids' teachers wearing miniskirts or muscle shirts. @Wraith_Cemetery nailed it with the doctor's office example. It's not a judgement about the person wearing whatever they're wearing it just doesn't look professional.
