My sister who is getting her phd in astrophysics is obsessed with scientists like Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman and so on so she wears shirts with them

I was on a video call with her and noticed a picture of her shirt with Albert Einstein on it, since he is dead don’t u think it’s offensive?

She says she is her inspiration for becoming a physicist and so on but he’s dead?

We got into a big argument how this is offensive and she said it isn’t? He’s smoking a pipe

he was a great man, and a part of history.
I never knew that there was a rule stating that you could only wear shirts with a live person on them.
Whether or not you are offended by her shirts those are your feelings, and you need to deal with them.
It is not up to your sister to have to deal with how they make you feel.
She may be greatly offended that you are offended by her shirt, I just don't see why, but again, I am not you.
It's a cool shirt.
There is no way that people can change everything on the planet so that no one is offended by something.
I would be offended that I had to change just because someone got their undies in a bundle of something I was wearing.
It would just be a never-ending circle of the next person being offended.
Next time don't do a video call when you want to talk to her and the problem is solved.
She can wear her favorite shirts and you won't know what she is wearing so you will not be offended.

I’m with your sister. I don’t understand your point at all. I suppose if the photo were inherently disrespectful in some way, it would be different. Simply wearing or displaying an image of someone who has passed away isn’t disrespectful at all in the US.

People wear T-shirts with dead folks pictures on it all the time. LOL Who cares if it's a cool t-shirt about a cool person. Einstein is a great person to wear and I don't see anything offensive about it! Sounds like a personal problem if you ask me!!

I think it's cool. It's what she's into. Some people wear anime shirts. Some people wear sports stuff. Some people wear cannabis stuff. It's whatever your personality is. It's not even offensive.
