Do you believe being short is subjective or objective?

I’m 5’2 and one time I got called objectively short by another person.

It's a subjective term. Being short is relative to whatever you mentally compare it to. Are you short compared to an adult redwood tree or are you short compared to an ant? You have to establish you point of comparison in order to call something short, and different people will use different objects of comparison which distorts the definition based on their personal feelings. When dealing with other humans if they are smaller than you then they are short. If comparing averages, anyone below average is short. That said, average height has changed over time. Average height is also different in various localities. It's all a matter of opinion, where someone wants to draw the line.

Don’t worry 5’2 isn’t that short it’s pretty average for a woman. You’d be short next to most men though I guess. So it’s probably both.

It didn’t hurt my feelings being called “objectively short” by this person because I never been picked on in my life for my height. I did get picked on at school a bit but not because of my height.

I got called ugly at school because I had freckles and bushy eyebrows.
I was never picked on because of my height even thought I was shorter than a lot of other girls in my grade.

Yes I think it’s subjective I remember as a child thinking it must feel like crazy to be as tall as my Mom and she’s only 5ft lol

the comparisons itself is objective. a 5'2 person is objectively shorter than a 5'3 person but just simply throwing out the term "short" is subjective

Depends to what you compare your height to.
In my case I'd say you're objectively short, since I'd be comparing your height to the world average for women which is apparently 5'3".

It's objective but it's relative. To someone who is 4'11" you're not short. Objectively. But to someone who is 6'1" you are short. Also objectively.
