Girls, do you feel exposed in swimwear?

I'm 14 and sometimes feel exposed at the beach or pool, especially when I compare to what my brother is wearing. He gets covered all the way to the knees, while I can look down and see that I'm barely covered in front, and I know I'm even less covered in back.

No, I don't feel exposed. You should wear a style that covers more if that is a concern of yours. I always wear a lightweight wrap unless I am in the water. It is almost like a cover for your whole bottom half and goes down to my ankles.

That is something you may want to look into if you are feeling self conscious or that you are exposed too much. They make all sorts of different coverups for the beach. Plus, many of then have some UV protection. Even if the material is not UV resistant, it is still better than nothing.

The other thing is change the style to a one piece. That, with a wrap, you should be just fine and fully covered. They are relatively inexpensive and you can find them online. I would be happy to share some links if you are interested.

I would have to know your general location though so I get the right brands. You don't have to be specific but just let me know Europe, US, Canada, etc etc. Hope this helps!

You are aware of the fact that you get to pick what you put on your body, right? Or maybe not if you live in one of those fucked up parts of the world where you are forced to cover up… but I guess that wouldn’t really apply to swimwear.

I never even tried to wear a swimsuit in public, mainly because I don't have the ideal body type to wear one. Go to the beach, I'm clothed in capris and a T-shirt.

Even when I wore a one piece in my own backyard at the lake I feel exposed.

I sometimes still feel a little uncomfortable in swimwear. I felt more uncomfortable when I was 14 and didn't think my boobs were big enough.

It's just part of being a girl-you get much more revealing swimwear than boys wear. I doubt anybody at the beach or pool notices you. All the other women and girls are dressed the same way.

You should wear what you can feel comfortable in, if that’s swim shorts and a tankini or whatever they do make them for women too.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to dress more modestly especially at your age I remember grown men being super weird when I was a teen I doubt that’s changed 🙄
