What should I wear to my dad’s friend’s seventieth birthday party?

I tend to wear something a little bit more than casual when going to someone's b-day, unless it is a young persons.

Like a dress-shirt with the button down etc.

So whatever the equivalent is in a girl's wardrobe, perhaps a more casual dress or nice jeans/pants with a slightly dressier top. Just enough to take it up a notch.

Not something you would wear to the grocery store or on the weekend lounging around.
