Kind of a stupid/random topic to post, but... I'm just low-key kind of wondering what people's thoughts on this would be. I'm a big fan of The Office, and one of the things that sort of stuck out to me about Erin besides her cute naive personality and being sort of a daughter figure to Michael, was that her skirts were always quite a bit shorter than the other female character's skirts, such as Pam, Angela, or Kelly. Their skirts ended around just above the knee, while Erin's skirts ended about mid-thigh, and got shorter when sitting.

I guess this would low-key kind of fit Erin's personality... since she's not exactly portrayed as a "professional" or "smart" character. Heck, sometimes she was shown to be as dumb as Kevin, if not even more so than him. Maybe she just doesn't properly comprehend "professional attire." Maybe she just likes the short skirt because "it's cute," but doesn't comprehend it's not all that professional.

But in an office setting specifically, a formal, professional, business setting... just a bit too much thigh showing if you ask me.

For the record, anywhere else but a professional business setting, this skirt length would be perfectly "normal" and not stick out at all in my opinion. I am not a religious person who super believes in "modesty" and "showing skin is sinful/bad," nor am I a "slut shamer" or anything like that.

But if I saw a woman like that in a professional business setting in real life... I don't know. I feel I'd be pretty distracted by her bare thighs in such a setting. Bare thighs in an office setting just feels sort of out of place. And it'd be kinda hard to take that woman seriously, unless she was really, REALLY good at her job or something.

But then again... as mentioned, Erin is not supposed to be taken seriously. She's basically sort of a skinny, younger, female Kevin. Plus The Office in general is just a silly sitcom TV show, so perhaps I'm overthinking EVERYTHING!!! 😅😂😅😂😅

Anyway, some old business attire always makes me feel lack of energy and I wouldn’t want to talk business with them, either men or women. Old ways require men’s suit jacket to cover the butt, front to be flat, but what I think is to make it shorter so men can be more energetic. Same way applies to women’s suit, shorter skirt and more fitted top make us look more professional, full of energy.

It's according to what business setting. If you're working in fashion, many lengths work according to your age and leg fitness. A lawyer who's going to defend a client in court most likely would not wear that length. But sometimes sexy dressing is called "power" dressing in all sorts of professions.

Women are using sex to distract male colleagues and gain an advantage. I don't think this is kosher. I'd rather use brain power. But this might have its point.

This makes perfect sense. As for the sexy dressing and "power" and distracting male coworkers to gain an advantage... I mean to each their own, but if they were going to make it work I'd imagine they'd need at least SOME brain power as well... can't just have one thing or the other.

A lot of people in general, besides women who dress sexily on purpose to gain an advantage, try to do things to have as much of an unfair advantage as possible... so that by itself is not unique to women dressing sexily in business settings. If they weren't able to gain an advantage by dressing sexy, they'd surely find some other way to gain it either way. So makes no difference in the end if you ask me.

I work in D. C. I can spot 50 women walking down the street wearing that or shorter to work. It really only stands out when they're too heavy to be wearing that. Then it's not going to look professional anyway.

It certainly works for her role, but in my opinion, it is too short for the office. I wouldn't wear a skirt that short to the office in real life.

My thoughts exactly, lol. For the role of the character she's supposed to portray: ditsy, quirky, naive, gullible, eccentric, etc... it works pretty perfectly. But as an actual professional piece of clothing to wear to a formal office setting in real life? Nah... it just doesn't work. It'd be the equivalent of a guy wearing short shorts to work instead of long pants, lol.

But assuming the woman in the profile picture is you, I'm sure you'd look greats in skirts that length! And even if that woman is not you, I'm sure you'd still look great, haha. It's all about confidence.

People who are more old fashioned might say that skirt is too short for an office, but times are definitely changing, haha.

Really? Interesting, huh... history can be so strange in how it changes. I also read that yoga used to be a predominantly male type of exercise, while these days it's the other way around... lol. And that little boys used to wear pastel pink colors, while little girls wore pastel blue colors. And yet today that's also the other way around. So strange.

Skirts got shorter, men stopped wearing tights, and since we dont shave our legs, noone wants to see hairy legs. So, women, adopted the skirt, because they shave, and they wear tights, regardless of if they shave or not
