Is it weird for a guy to go to a hair stylist or hair salon instead of a barber to get a haircut?

It's not weird. It depends on what kind of hair cut the guy prefers. If he likes close cuts done with an electric razor, he should go to a barber. But if he has longer hair, and especially long hair, a salon is the way to go.

My wife is a hair stylist. They are called stylists for a reason. I go to her for cuts. I don't wear my hair long, just down to my collar in back and a little bit floppy to cover the tops of my ears when I comb it back. She does an amazing job. But she also has quite a few male clients. Some of them are even mostly bald and wear what hair they have fairly short.

A guy owns the salon and he has both male and female clients.

It is not. I used to have this thing with my hair. When it got longer the sides used to stick out like two wings. There was no gel back then and I refused to use women's hairspray. A gas I worked with said I should go to the stylist he went to. So the next day I go in there and the guy used scissors instead of the electric clippers. He said he could cut it so the hair would grow together. The guy was right because I never had the problem again

Not in my country. Profession of barber died out 100 years ago with introduction of safety razor

Not at all. I went to a lady that gave all of her clients a vibrating shoulder massage in the end. She had lots of guys lined up. She was a sharp cookie.
