+1 yNo they will just lower your self esteem. I think if you feel the need to change yourself to feel better then you really aren’t comfortable in your own skin. Remember the saying “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. Well if you continue to believe that piercings will give you the desired feeling you may just end up feeling more insecure. You could believe that you need more tattoos and pierces to be beautiful. However just to be clear this is not always the case and some people genuinely want them just because they look cool.

I really think it depends on the individual who they are who they want to be known as I love artwork I love detail but you have to commit if you're going to get one and I have always said no I don't want one and that's just because with the tattoo you see so many people with this square block on their body and it just is not right it doesn't look right
In order for me to have one the tattooist has to be an artist a true artist and the tattoo has to go on to my body to where when I walk no matter what I'm doing that tattoo has to flow with me it has to be a part of me it has to be one with me I wanted to move and speak with my body if it can't do that I wouldn't want it
I've seen some really great and beautiful tattoos but where the people have them placed on their body it just takes away from the artwork and it takes away from them00 Reply
If you love your body why do you need to put holes in it and put metal hanging out of it. Or permanently infuse ink into your body, no offense but when I see someone with tattoos or piercings I think they either have bad/immature decision making or they are compensating, because they hate their body or are insecure.
I personally love my body and will always take care of it, I'm not a car you don't just start adding mods, being yourself means being comfortable in your natural body. I dont get why people would be so uncomfortable they feel they need to damage and alter themselves.10 Reply
u +1 yOfcourse they can. My tattoos have really helped me, and everyone I know with tattoos says the same. And back when I had lots of piercings, they did make me pretty confident.

@Shamalien that's because you are a man. y'all already feel confident in your body. It's different for women
- +1 y
@Apple1996 well tattoos and piercings are just crutches and they don’t make a woman more attractive except in her mind. Women are always told they need all this extra shit and are never enough but that’s just marketing pop culture BS. I like a natural woman
- +1 y
@Shamalien women feeling pretty in their mind is the most important thing tho. It's not important what men/or society thinks
- +1 y
@Apple1996 what men or society thinks is often the reason for so many of these insecurities in the first place
- +1 y
@Shamalien possibly for other women but that wasn't the case for me. I got basically all my piercings at a time when I thought I was gay and didn't care about what men or anyone else thought
- +1 y
@Apple1996 yeah well you are an exception to all the rules lol
- +1 y
@Shamalien I ain't a exception for anything. I'm just a basic bitch. Doing the same as all the rest 😆
- +1 y
@Apple1996 naw you a bad bitch 😛
- +1 y
@Shamalien haha thanks I'll take that as a compliment 😊
- +1 y
@Shamalien that’s wonderful for you! Not everyone is that lucky to already feel so good in their body without modifications ☺️

+1 yI don't think body piercings or tattoos would increase body positivity. To me it is downgrading your body. I think women's bodies in a pure form are more beautiful than those that have been tattooed or pierced. I've also learned my years of experience through farming. You usually put a tattoo on a creature to prove it's yours. Piercings also put into a creature and it forces the creature to do your will as it's master. Body piercings and tattoos are giving your will to a Master. Your body is to share your loving soul at your will. Not the becketing of the master.
10 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. No. Most people see that as a cry for attention. Every time I've seen a poll with significant participation on this subject, between 60% and 80% say it makes (especially women) look worse. The exceptions are entirely other people with tattoos or extra piercings, more than likely trying to affirm themselves, similar to heavy drinkers and smokers.
Consider this: why do you have issues with your self-image, and how exactly does ramming some metal or doodling on your skin solve that? The overwhelming majority of (mostly women but also some men) I've known with this problem are never going to solve it through body modification. Some had discreet health issues they were caving to, but most really just needed to change their diets and/or work out, or in one case, find a different group of friends to be around.

+1 yI got a tattoo done at the end of last year, it was on my bucketlist of things to do before i die and i did it, i braved the needle and got it done.
I am constantly looking at it all the time. I love it, it's boosted my esteem cos now I hav something to show off to someone who is inked.

I got it done for another reason, it was done 2 days after my mum passed away from Bowel Cancer, us also it was for a charity fundraiser
100% if you get a tattoo or peircing you want and are sure of it can help you feel more confident and body positive

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yMaybe, but not personally. I have tattoos and piercings that I think are so cool and pretty but I think they’re on a person that is an ugly loser (me). sorry to be a downer

Aw I’m sorry

10 Reply5K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Yes they can. Anything that makes you feel good is a good thing, and no one should let others try to tell them if it is right or wrong.
20 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. For some people it can help. I know I feel naked without wearing my body jewelry/earrings so yes it helps me feel better about myself
30 ReplyDepends what tattoos matter to that individual. I have seen a man having
made tiger in his body because he had witnessed a nature phenomenal moment.

I cringe when i see guys with sleeves and other tats covering a majority of their body. And as for nose and lip piercings, just no
for some yes for others no. mine are just apart of my lifes journey that i drew up they didn't have any effect on my self esteem personally
10 ReplyIt depends on where you get pierced. I personally think nose piercings are nasty.

+1 ySure but they can also hurt, depending on how u think of them. It's not the tattoos or piercings that do anything rlly it's just how u see urself, so if u like those stuff then they can help see urself in more positive way.

There are some people that use tattoos to cover up their surgery scars

+1 yIt can. Just have to make sure it's something you'll want for a long time... I guess you can tattoo over a tattoo if you do not like it, but still. It's a life time decision I think.

The bottom line, it is just vain people who follow fads ruining their looks permanently.
