Has a hairdresser ever messed up your hair?

A while ago I went to go get a haircut and I asked if they cut about an inch off. Let’s say they cut way more off lmao.

Yes. I asked for my hair to be dyed brown, manager comes over and puts the dye on, within 15 minutes my hair went black. I looked around to find someone to let them know my hair was the wrong colour, all the staff were busy, manager was also nowhere to be found as she decided to dye my hair and go to lunch. She comes back and I complain about my hair being the wrong colour, and she tells me to keep washing my hair and the black will wash out. Went to another hairdresser and was told the only way to get the back out was to put bleech in my hair to strip the colour. Overall it cost me $300 that day. About 6 months later that hairdresser closed down. I guess the manager had screwed up a few too many hairs.

I've also had people screw up my haircuts as well. My hair is quite thin or fine and it really only takes about 10 minutes to cut it, yet for some reason there have been a couple of hairdressers who haven't cut my hair straight and I didn't realise until I got home and saw it in the natural light.

Ooh yes one time I was out of state and tried to get my haircut somewhere they cut it well enough then she asked me if I wanted it blow dried straight, I didn’t really want that but she kept asking so I was like sure I like how my normal hair person did it with the dryer not straitening irons and she burnt my hair really badly🤷🏻‍♀️ like I ended up with way more damage than I went in to trim off.

I've had barbers screw up my hair. For the summer I get it cut short, but not crewcut short. Well he decided to do what he wanted on his own. He just took about 1/8" off the top and buzzed the sides really short, almost shaved. When I saw it I got pissed. I made him cut the top shorter. He tried charging me more for the cut. I gave him $15 and walked out. 30 years ago that's what a guy's haircut used to cost. Now I do it myself and have my wife check it.

It's messy and puffy, and it stands, it's not straight but it's not curly and it stands on my head like a mushroom cloud, it's like a Hispanic afro, your hair looks nice tho and If that's messy I can't imagine when you try 😆

No that was an especially good hair day, yes mine sounds similar to yours lol I used to keratin straighten it because it was the only thing that made it soft and not frizzy then I missed the big hair so now I just let it do it’s thing, weirdly I do get hair compliments from strangers.

Yeah, the first time in Poland. My aunt took me to the village barber and she cut off too much.

The second time, the gut did one side perfectly, then just left the otherside unfinished so he could squeeze in his buddy who just waltzed in without an appointment.

It still hasn't been able to properly grow back after both incidents.

There was also another one that took off too much from the sides. And then there was one lady who took too little off, because she wanted to squeeze in a regular who also watlzed in without an appointment.

The problem with barbers is, with most of them, unless you're a regular client or a friend of a friend, they completely neglect you.

I once went to a discount barber that cut in secret and they did half my head and kicked me out cause a more important and frequent customer came in during my hair cutting time slot and they left better tips then me.

I think it's happened to us all. For that reason, I don't change my mechanic or hairdresser if I like their work unless they die or I move to a new city :P
