Am I the only one who never understood why people like the Photoshoped "ideal" of a woman?

Like Instagram models and all that. But what amuses me the most is that some men believe that's what those women actually look like having no pore or having perfect everything! Like yes some women can look like that but they still have pores🤣. Most women want to look like that and envy those IG models and i am here thinking why?

I don’t assume somebody is automatically good looking just because they don’t have blemishes or wrinkles or breaking / croaking in their voice cause I think that beauty is subjective and based on high lights rather than omissions. My definition of a good looking person is somebody who has flaws like Meryl Strep or Chrystia Freeland or Alanis Morsette. I think it’s possible to be over the age of 30 and still very pretty and I think somebody can be attractive without fitting into Nicky Hilton’s designer shoes. It’s just the world markets flawless skin cause it’s easier to find a young person that is generic in appearance then somebody older with unique features and social quirks. I also think that girls should compliment each other and not tear each other down, same with guys, they should treat people like human beings and not mannequins that fit certain ideas in their head.

Honestly I think it’s just dumb. And I think a lot of it is created by fashion designers, cosmetics companies and the media to sell their products. In my experience I’ve met a few guys who really are shallow enough to think “perfection” matters, but I genuinely think most men realise that’s not how real women are. For gods sake most of them are far from perfect themselves!!

I’m in my 40’s I’m a curvy UK size 16 with greying hairs, crows feet and a jiggly tummy and I’m still attracting men in their 20’s. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being confident, comfortable with who you are, in your own skin, and just being able to enjoy life rather than worrying about how you look!

I do look after my skin and I eat well and exercise, and apparently I’m ageing well, but it’s more about being youthful rather than looking young or perfect.

Not everyone has noticeable pores. Pore size is determined by a variety of factors, like genetics or hormones, or ethnicity. A lot of Asian or Korean women have glass like skin, as a result of an extensive skincare routine, diet and genetics. Also, some filters don't look super fake, so sometimes it can be hard to tell what's real online at first sight. But yes, beauty standards nowadays have become unrealistic and toxic

The Ideal Woman is decided every 10 years by a small committee appointed by George Soros. Could be anything from coltish tomboy to phat assed ho. It doesn't matter because Freud proved in the 1930s that men are sexually attracted to women who resemble their mother. What? I don't make the rules I'm just saying.
