Because women are judged based on their looks more than anything else. Men are judged more based on personality (confidence etc) and achievements (education, career, sports). Almost non of that matters for how people judge, talk about or treat women because if she’s not also good looking she’s no good. Women also aren’t ”allowed” to age and get wrinkles, saggy body and so on whereas men are. She gets called ugly, old hag, passed best before date, post wall etc. Men don’t get that nearly as much or as early in life even if they look just as old as women their age.

Well I think because women tend to have more pressure on them to look a certain way. Less so than men. This is a general observation. However this is shifting. Men are becoming under pressure more often to look a certain way now. So I assume plastic surgery for men will become more common.
