Have you ever cut your own hair?

I'm thinking of doing so, ima see if I match my expectations, see if it's as easy as it looks, worst case I'll shave it off short like a cholo lol

Only as a kid and my mom didn't like it. I played hairstyler and actually cut my hair. It obviously resulted in a mess.

As a grown up no. BUT I regularly 'cut' my husbands hair. With an electric shaver though and that makes it easy. He does most of it on his own and I am bassically only there for making sure its even. So you can do it on your own but I guess with scissor it makes it extremly difficult, as you can't really see that well from different angles to make sure its not messed up. An electric shaver helps tremendously just get a good mirror position to belable to lookjat you from behind.

I always cut my own hair. I never liked how barbers cut it. So now I just created a formula for how to cut mine. I know exactly what settings look best for me. I'm not a good as a professional barber with fading but I think I looks good enough. Good enough for me not to feel embarrassed. 🤣

Yeah, during the pandemic, in lockdown. First a real bootcamp buzz cut, because I just wanted to get rid of the mane. Looked rather brutal of course. Later I bought a Philips haircut machine and used its options (2-5 cm hair length).

I haven't been to a barber in 20 years. The hardest part is doing around the ears and the back of the neck. Otherwise, after time, it becomes easy.

I trim it a little between haircuts. Once a few years ago I went out on the deck with some of the neighborhood kids and we all buzzed our heads to show solidarity to a local kid who was being treated for cancer.

Yeah really! She brought me to her hairdresser and she what she could with it. She had too cut it short so I looked like a boy 👦 My mom made sure I never got hold of the scissors again 🤣

i do quite often. I have a hair thinning comb that i use mostly from the "inside to outer" layers and that shortens it as well.

Well it gets easier and easier with time , you kinda get used to it.. but there's a technique I sometimes use.. move the clippers through your hair while it's off power.. it'll still leave a mark through the hair and there you go , you have your bald line!.. power on the clippers and cut through the bulk , then comb your hair down and clean.. and for blending you can watch some YouTube tutorials to help you with the guards and numbers... I know first few attempts can be very difficult and it might take you hours.. but trust me it gets easier and easier with time you'll actually have your own technique later.. and judging by your hair type it should be even easier for you.. my hair is curly and you have no idea how hard it is xD..

I do with a 70mm comb cutter. I do a #0 cut. It is easy and cheap.

I cut my own hair all the time. I'm actually going to do it today. I just take the buzzer, put the number 3 attachment on it and start cutting. My wife checks it afterwards to make sure I didn't miss any spots in the back that I can't see

My head's not shiny.😆 I think only actually bald-bald guys get shiny heads. I don't think it's really possible to get it that short. And your hair is constantly growing. So basically an hr. after shaving it's got some stubble, ya know what I mean.
