Is it weird to cut your own hair?

im strange. you see, growing up, mom used to cut my hair every summer, which was nice since she had experience of beauty salon lol. i especially got tons of compliments in 2021, that was the iconic marilyn monroe haircut! in 2023, while doing masters, i vowed to let my hair grow.

i broke it hundreds of times by trimming.

today, i chopped three inches and it kinda looks emo and cool. so 2010s.

do you think that's... not normal?

Not at all! In fact that's a skill I wish I had. I like keeping my hair short but that means frequent visits to the salon. There's not much to style with short hair, but I still can't trust myself to not destroy my hair completely if I try to trim it myself.

I'm not as good as mom. The only reason I look pretty is because the rest of me is beautiful. Otherwise... It would look very unfortunate! Hahaha

I'm sure it's a lot of trial and error just like with a lot of things. Good thing about hair is it grows back and if you have the skill, you always learn what not to do next time. I can at least say I have developed some skill in styling my facial hair for instance. Keeping it trimmed short and clean but also in shape.

I would but I literally don't know how. Would be really neat though. Save a lot of money. Though I don't have to worry about that anyway since I live with my parents and my mom cuts my hair for free. Would be neat to do it 100% on my own though. I tried back when I was like 14 or so and it did NOT go well. LOL. All I did was unintentionally make a bunch of bald spots. And the very next day at school a boy immediately asked "if a blind man cut my hair." ☠️

No, I've been cutting my own hair (with scissors!) for decades, and the main advantage of doing so, besides money, is that your hair stays the same all the time, so you don't have people asking you all day, 'Did you get your hair cut?'

Yes for me it would be weird because I've never done it any I don't think I'd be good at it but it depends on your circumstances how you grew up etc. It might not be weird at all in some situations :)

I've cut my own hair for over a decade, but I have straight hair that a few passes with a razor with a #6 attachment works perfectly.

Neah not at all, I do that for like 15 years I could never let anyone else cut my hair anymore, its nice to experiment. I do love women with short/bob like hair so sometimes I cut their hair as well
