Do you remove your shoes when sitting somewhere?

I can't stay more than 10 minutes somewhere without slipping out of my shoes. It also goes with socks when I am in familiar places

I don't get it because here you say the total opposite that you can't stand removing your shoes and socks. I would think that your friend's house qualifies as a familiar place wouldn't it?

Do you know people who wants their guests to be barefoot?

To answer the question though yes and no. I remove my shoes when I am at home or someone's house but almost never remove my socks. Maybe in my own apartment in the summer I will walk around barefoot but otherwise I have socks on.

Depends on. In a familiar place, if I'll sit for a long time, I sometimes slip out my shoes.

You should come to Japan. It is our custom to take shoes off at the door. Even at some restaurants. Japanese people watching US TV shows always can't believe when they see people wearing shoes on the couch or in bed.
