When it comes to career advancement, it’s good to present yourself well to show that you take your role seriously.
First impressions are powerful and people enjoy working with those who come off as professionals.
For both your employers and your clients and customers, this is important.
However, this isn’t really looking ‘rich’ per say, but rather professional.
You still need to dress according to what makes sense with your profession.
If you’re a lawyer, it’s going to be important to wear a nice suit.
If you’re a professional gym owner, even if you were making millions, it would be a little strange to be wearing a suit on most days.
But, you should still dress like you have your sh*t together, no matter your profession.
That will just look a little different across professions.
Now for being flashy? That should only be for fun and not for actually trying to impress other people, unless you don’t mind coming off as obnoxious.
You hardly ever see billionaires flexing their wealth, because they have nothing to prove.
It would only make their billionaire peers cringe if they see them tell other people, “Look, I’m so rich and you’re so poor.”
The guy with the same yacht isn’t impressed by his neighbor flexing his new yacht. It would just come off as obnoxious if it’s done in a douchey way.
Now one caveat would be if someone’s business is built around an audience that aspires to become wealthy and the business owner is showcasing proof of their wealth to inspire others.
If they make it about their audience and not themselves, and encourage their audience to pursue their goals and dreams. That’s different. It’s not being done in a douchey way. See the difference?
Now, for people that actually aren’t super rich but are just trying to appear more rich than they are to impress other people, by buying all these things they can’t afford, that’s super cringe.
If I was a billionaire, I’d probably mostly toggle between quality sportswear and tailored suits. But the suits I’d wear would be the same suits I’d buy if I was making 6-figures a year. It would be the same with my car. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe instead of say a Bugatti Chiron, even if I could comfortably afford one. I’d want to present myself well, and with class. But I wouldn’t want to have people flocking around my car when I just feel like going to Five Guys (my favorite burger joint) or something.
I swing both. You know how good torn up jeans and a tattered shirt can look? I don’t have to buy designer jeans, I make my own working outside with standard stock from common stores.
I can also don suits and dress ware. Blue, white, gold, and black are my best colors.
So to answer your question, it’s whatever I feel like doing for an appropriate occasion.
Forget rich or poor, the guy in that pic should be worried about his bad fashion sense. So much wrong with one picture.
Though fashion is very subjective, many people view suits as a safe fashion choice so I wouldn't say it's bad.
But not without black socks. 😖
I think they'd look better with socks but it's still not the determining factor of how good or bad his overall outfit looks in my opinion
Nah, he looks like one of those rich guys who wears that kind of outfit to bed at night. No cheap Pierre Cardin for him. 😴😴
At the doctor's, unfortunately.
Why there?
Doctors take you more seriously if u dress nicer. If u look bad they more likely think ur dumb or lying or looking for drugs.
Ahh, I see now. Wow didn't think about that!
