I agree, and I hear people say it all the time, who cares about traditional beautiful standards, or if you have the facial features that are considered conventially attractive. It would be like posting on here, and if 10 people said you look ugly, that that means you are ugly, and 10 random people decide that, or if people on Reddit say you're beautiful, that you are, just because they said it, like what

Yes and no. It depends on the context. If, for example you are in marketing and looking for a model who can help promote your clothing, makeup or jewelry products and such, then having a woman who is attractive to more people (especially other women) is a big plus. Not everyone agrees on who is attractive. But some people are more attractive to more people than others. I personally am not usually attracted to a "conventionally attractive" woman, but most people are. I can't think of a single celebrity woman that I find attractive. I often see women IRL that I find much more attractive than any celebrity.

It matters insofar is it impacts your likelihood of success in the dating world. For instance, if you have features that match what most people find attractive, you'll be able to attract a greater number of people and thus have a larger dating pool. Conversely, if you're attracted to what most other people find attractive, you'll face a lot of competition for the people you want to date, whereas if you find less conventionally attractive features to be turn ons for you, you'll face less competition.

Hmmm while I agree that it doesn’t matter I think with the example you gave, some people on this app have intentions to just be flat out rude and disrespectful so maybe they don’t even have any feelings towards whether you are ugly or not. Maybe they just have better opportunity to hurt someone’s feelings when it involves someone’s appearance

I think that everyone is beautiful in their own unique way, but inner beauty shines through. Someone could be so attractive in looks but have the ugliest personality and it instantly makes them so unattractive. That's my view.

Obviously there are more universally attractive and unattractive things. I say you need to stay true to yourself and you will attract those who genuinely like you for you.

Its a nice sentiment, but if you were to attain the characteristics of a societal model then you would realize it is not meaningless. If you as a man were all toned up conforming to societal beauty standards, then the way people from within that society would interact with you, would be starkly different than interactions faced as a morbidly obese man. Its those interpersonal interactions that give meaning to beauty standards
