What does the phrase "change your image" mean to you?

If someone says that a woman should get a weave in their opinion, or that they should grow their hair out longer, and that doing that, would change the person's image.

Change your image usually means someone wants you to change your look or style to fit someone else's preferences, ya know? Like they think you should change something about how you present yourself physically to the world.

If a dude's telling a chick to get a weave or grow her hair longer, it kinda feels like they've decided how she should look in their head already. Like her natural hair or current look ain't good enough for them or something.

To me, telling someone they need to "change their image" says that person thinks your image right now doesn't match what they find attractive or appealing. Like they gotta change you into what turns them on instead of taking you as you are naturally.

I dunno, it just rubs me the wrong way. A girl should do her hair or look however makes HER feel good, not to please some random dude. Her worth ain't defined by some guy's opinion of her appearance, you feel me?

If he's stressing her image so much already, that's a red flag. Like is he even getting to know HER as a person inside? Or is he just focused on thesurface stuff? Not cool if you ask me.
