The guy wearing tux all classy and elegant and the event took place in a very exclusive social club and restaurant and is a members only club. The guy has a date and brought her with him, but the date did not wear formal clothes or a formal dress, no she wore pants with a normal white blouse and a huge black coat covering her. The pants are more pants to go to the office , not or a shiny pants or a formal pair of pants and the blouse looks a bit informal too. Is tht ok to be dressed like that to a fancy place while your SO wears formal but your partner did not?

Happens all the time these days. One person dresses up nicely for the date and the other one shows up in a ridiculous outfit.
People these days have no idea how to dress appropriately for an event. I went to a very classy art gallery and only a few people dressed nicely, my date and I included. A lot of the younger Gen Zs at the event showed up in ripped jeans, sweatpants, and t-shirts. One Gen Z girl actually showed up in a nice dress and noticed that we dressed up too so she came over and we laughed and rolled our eyes and the underdressed morons.
Hmm it does sound a little odd that your date would dress so casual for such a fancy event. Like you said, the place sounds super exclusive and elegant with your guy all dressed up in a nice tux.
I'd be kinda embarrassed to show up in basically just regular clothes like that while everyone else is dressed to the nines. Your date is probably gonna feel really out of place. People are definitely gonna be looking at her outfit like "what is she wearing?"
I'd give your date a heads up nicely that this is a really formal deal and suggest she wears either a nice formal dress or at least dress pants with a blouse or something. Not gonna lie, showing up like she's just going to the mall might seriously bring down your guys' vibe for the night.
She should want to make a good impression too if she's your date! Maybe offer to help her pick something out so she feels comfortable. In the end it's up to her, but styles-wise it just doesn't seem like the right fit for the occasion ya know?
