I have 2. Both are suns. One big one on my left shoulder and one small one on my left ankle. I got them because I like the aesthetic of tattoos as long as they're in good taste and not everywhere on the body like a sleeve. And when you get a tattoo it shouldn't just be spontaneous and a design that was chosen at a whim. It's something you have to wear for life so it should be symbolic or something that you want to be reminded of.

The reason I'm obsessed with the sun is because I feel it represents me. My favourite colour is that golden yellow you see during a sunset. When looking at that light I feel like my worries all wash away and life is gonna be okay. It energizes and relaxes me. I love nature and boho vibes. People have also told me my eyes look golden in the sun, so it resonates with me. And to top it off my name means light; bright.

I actually do like hats, haha. But the other three just aren’t for me. I can think they look good on others though👍 When I don’t have ridiculous hair like I currently do, I keep a very clean-cut, classic style.

No shade to anyone, like I said, I like the look for many people, but….. I can’t say it’s not kinda basic these days to have tattoos, politely😅

Oh, the other thing, as I’m getting older…. I’m seeing a lot of people I knew when they were younger now regretting the tattoos they got back in the day. Everyone getting removals over cover-ups, haha. 20 year old me, without foresight, would’ve gotten the thuggin’-est tattoos I could have. But I think I knew I couldn’t look gang-related as I got older, haha…. plus I think I have kind of sweet and non-intimidating face, so that whole Thug Life look just doesn’t pair well with me. I don’t want to be out here looking like Millyz, lmfao

I currently have 8 tattoos and my next 6 designed and another 4 in the process of being designed, each one of my tattoos have a very personal meaning to me mainly to help remind myself of the things I have been through and the fact that I was able to get through them despite almost giving up, so for me each one of mine have a very special meaning to me and have helped me many times to remember that I am stronger then the pain I am currently going through and I have been through worse and I'll get through that as well.

I have one on my right forearm (Celtic design) that I got in the US in my late teens. My friend was a tattoo artist and I was dumb and young and wanted to look cool. It's really faded now.

It's one of my bigger regrets now as tats are really looked down upon here in Japan. I'm not allowed into certain establishments like gyms and sometimes even bars and rarely swimming pools unless I cover it up with an arm band like this:

It's also why a lot of the pics I sometimes share on this site have me wearing that black arm band. I have to often wear it in public places or else they'll kill me out.

I've been considering laser removal. Often I heard it can only lighten, not entirely eliminate the tat though. Unless it looks completely gone, most Japanese probably won't let me inside these places still.

I've kind of gotten used to it though. I have lots of long-sleeve shirts and also when I wear short-sleeves, I just wear that stretchy black arm band. I have like 10 of them. 😅

@HawkPerception Japan can be quite far behind in some areas. For example, there are establishments like bars that even ban foreigners. I have to show my Japanese passport sometimes to get in being half-white, since they often assume I'm not a Japanese citizen otherwise based on my looks.

Thoughts on tats are also very behind. There was a time historically when Japan outlawed tats, making it so only organized criminals (Yakuza) had tats. Since then, Japan lifted the ban on tattoos but the stigma that everyone who has a tat is a criminal has remained.

On laser removal, I've looked into it a little bit and there are clinics. But my tat is very dense and usually multiple treatments are required to even fade out a tattoo as simple as this:


Laser removal is becoming very cheap and affordable though so I might try a session or two. There's a side of me that kind of regrets the tat on a daily basis but sometimes it's also kind of a permanent reminder to me of how stupid I was when I was younger that I avoid repeating similar mistakes of the time. There's a side of me that is fond of it in a way.
