I’m not happy with what my wardrobe has become! Lol I do have some nice clothing but would like some change in the style of clothes. I want to have enough clothes so I don’t have to wear the same thing twice in two weeks! Maybe not so much pants/skirts/dresses but definitely stylish blouses and dress shirts and shoes/boots. My manager told me, in the next yr or two I’ll get a clothing allowance! I almost hugged him!🤣🤣 How do you feel about your wardrobe?
681 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Well I'm never satisfied because it is quite hard to dress as a man. I'm more on the slightly alternative way of thinking but I also appreciate quite classical and simple styles.
Most men's clothes now are:
Either too gaudy with horrible and meaningless logos. Big logos look stupid for a man in his late 30s and I appreciate more subtle clothes.
Age inappropriate. See above. Clothing is geared towards people in their 20s. Basically you have a market for people in their 20s. Then the rest of the market is for people who are basically dead as far as the clothing companies are concerned. There is no middle ground.
Too preppy or perfect looking. Like the collars are too straight and pointy. Where as I appreciate more distressed, slightly alternative looks.
Otherwise, lots of urban shite or too 'gay'.
I'm not too interested in brands, but I'm also not into overly cheap clothes that look crap after a few washes. Some middle ground is best.

I told another opiner, to me, a guy looks good in a pair of nice fitting jeans and a solid colored t-shirt. I HATE shirts with words on them! I even told him, black, blue, red any color you look good in, not a t-shirt that has “Sound Garden’s” tour dates on it! I also like Bentley’s on a guy, especially long sleeved, to me, it’s a classier look. I like light sweaters too. I could pick you out some nice clothes! Lol

OMG! That’s my dream job. I always ask family and friends, give me a list and I’ll shop for them. Christmas, birthdays, even groceries! Lol If it’s not my money, I have no problem spending it. I’ve picked things out for guy friends all the time! They weren’t very excited about it, but I told them, “trust me”! 😉

I have a healthy assortment of casual attire to wear in social settings and just generally out and about.
For formal attire, I could replace a couple suits, but for the most part I’m happy with what I have.
I need more clothing I can get dirty with. I wear them out quickly.
A clothing allowance though work is nice. Hopefully you will get a good enough allowance to add a couple outfits to your wardrobe.

That’s what I’m hoping for! Lol Someone told me it’s like two hundred dollars every six months or something like that. That would be amazing!
- +1 y
To be honest, when it comes to business wear, men’s is a lot more expensive. I actually think they get a higher amount. I remember shopping for my boyfriend when we were going to a wedding, it was outrageous! A neck tie was forty dollars! I can buy a skirt suit for that. 🤣
- +1 y
@Billlewis 🤦♀️ It’s nice of you to offer but I have expensive taste. Lol
+1 yI used to have a lot of clothes. I am in debt become clothes. When I got kicked out of home, I slept on friends sofas for a few months, before moving in with my boyfriend.
I had at least 10 black bags! I had nowhere to put them and donated half to charity or sold them. Since then I have gained a lot more weight. I have sold all of them or gave to charity, apart from a few special items.
I now have no clothes that fit me. Apart from a few tops, hoodies and jogging bottoms. I went clothes shopping (last week) for the first time in 3 years. I bought 2 pairs of jeans. Will slowly get there for a warmer wardrobe.13 Reply- +1 y
That’s how I’m gonna start also. A blouse here and there, maybe a pair of pants every couple weeks. Sorry to hear about all your troubles, I hope things get better for you.❤️

Thanks 😊

Thanks for the mho
+1 yI’ve spent WAY too much money on clothes the last two years. When I moved here, I basically needed an entirely new wardrobe, because of winter. It’s nice though, because you can dress really cute! Scarfs, different hats for each outfit…long fancy jackets lol I’m happy with what I have at the moment. I might buy a couple things for summer.

🤣🤣 You know, when I watch Christmas movies, I always notice how pretty the girls look and just for a moment, feel cheated because I can’t experience that fashionable winter look. I bet you look gorgeous all bundled up. 🥰

+1 yi can go two months without doing laundry and then only needing to do socks and underwear. I can go a month without dry cleaning. The only thing I'm short on is running pants, and those are 10 or 11, so I usually just wash workout clothes every few days so they don't smell.
11 Reply- +1 y
No matter how hard I’ll try, I’ll never get to that point. Lol That’s a lot of clothes!
+1 yI can’t remember that last time I bought clothes. My casual style is simple and never goes out of style. I have enough jeans and shirts that they don’t wear out. As far as my business style, a couple suit jackets, three pairs of dress pants, four white dress shirts and a handful of ties. Occasionally, I will see new clothes appear but I didn’t buy them.

Hi, Wally, how are you? I’m guessing your wife buys clothes you (she) likes? Lol I’ve done that myself for my boyfriend. Out of curiosity, do you have a wardrobe allowance? I’m curious how that works? You can DM me if you want. 😊
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yAs long as I have clean socks and underwear I’m good. I work in medical so a majority of the time I wear scrubs. Even at home just scrubs pants w a t-shirt. If I’m not in scrubs I wear one of my 4 sweatpants outside w a t-shirt to do yard work. A lot of yard work I may add so no need in having new clothes. I have one pair of pants, one pair of shoes. I usually wear sandals or my crocs. Which I said I would never wear. But after having plants fasciitis my supervisor told me about them. Tried them, never had that issue again. So yes those are my primary foot wear.

+1 yI've been known to wear the same rotten-eggs-scented shirt for weeks at a time, forgetting that spaghetti sauce I tossed last week. Yeah, you know the one - it's the one with the questionable stains that look suspiciously like moldy cheese.
But I do wish I had more options because it gets a bit monotonous wearing the same vomit-stained sweater every day, and the puzzled looks from my fellow earthlings can be a bit disconcerting. Musty books and pungent body odor, anyone? At least I'm getting choked out by my own flatulence not unlike @posithink
But, yes, I'd love to have a closet filled with fresh, mothball-scented garments, but until then, I'll continue to rock my moldy cheese style with pride. After all, it's not every day you see a fashion icon smelling like old gym clothes!
10 Reply394 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I have way too many shoes, some I've only worn once. I am in my last few weeks of pregnancy, so nothing fits but baggy maternity stuff and I really want to get back to normal and wear normal clothes again.
So 2/10 happiness on wardrobe

+1 yI'm a sucker for sneakers and own almost 40 pairs. I wish I could sell some, so I can buy others I want :D The rest of the clothes, I'm happy with, but do occasionally still buy more.

Out of curiosity, do you ever shop second hand for clothes? I remembered today, that when I was in college, I did and found really nice things.
- +1 y
I tried buying second hand clothes, never came around it. What I do though is I await the sale periods, and since I live in Sweden, we have like almost every month sale occasions and hence during those times, I tend to buy something.
- +1 y
Same here.
Now that you mention it no, not really! I have a select few pieces that I like, but most of it is from my high school years. Most of it is really not me anymore, and there is too much of it to donate/sell and replace for me to manage and afford.
11 Reply- +1 y
My exact problem! I hang on to every piece of clothing but like you, it just isn’t me anymore and spending a ton of money on clothes seems kinda like a waste to me. I don’t know why but it does. I think for birthdays and Christmas, I’m gonna send everyone a picture of what I like and my size. Lol
m +1 yIt needs updating, I will get shopping next month or so for summer, and also see if any winter stuff is in the sales for next year. Most is okay but I’ve had it a few years and need a refresh.
12 Reply- +1 y
Definitely the same here. I really haven’t bought any clothes (other than undergarments) in I don’t know how long.
- +1 y
Yeah I know that feeling, jeans with wear marks lol. I want some bright colour for the summer, some look at me bright lol. That and going out in evening stuff, stylish but relaxed

the fashion nowadays are mostly recycled plastic… so I have to upgrade with better stuff slowly… as well as keeping my weight.

10 pairs of pants
5 shorts
25 causal shirts
4 dress shirts
20 hoodies
8 jackets/coats
6 pairs of shoes
I feel like that's enough.12 Reply- +1 y

Opinion Owner+1 yThe "nicest" clothing I have, in my opinion, are my anime shirts/hoodies. Lol everything else is pretty boring

I have a friend on here that lives in Northern WI, she said they’re expecting mid to upper 60’s next week! That’s crazy.
Ummm I have a pretty boring wardrobe honestly 😅 I wear more for comfort than anything. I don't think I many "cute" or nice outfits at all.
02 Reply- +1 y
Lol guys don’t have to worry about it as much. Nice jeans (that actually fit!) and a solid colored t-shit and they look good! Not a t-shit with “Sound Garden” on the front of it and their tour dates on the back! Just a regular black, blue, whatever color t-shirt you look good in. It can even have a small Nike emblem on it or Under Armor. Is that specific enough? 😝
+1 yI've got over 100 suits and sport coats. I'm almost satisfied.

I’m starting to regret all those times I would see something I really liked but didn’t get it. It would have been so much easier and not such a hit, money wise, to get one thing one week and something else the next. Now it’s like I wanna do it all at once! 🤣
- +1 y
Oh trust me, I get it. I'll look for one thing and want about 18 different things.
+1 yThe clothes I have are more than enough. I should declutter more often.
