How many times should I use shampoo a week?

I've heard that using shampoo dries out the natural oils in our hair, I just want to know how many days I should use shampoo a week if I have medium length hair.

You can feel free to take a shower every day however I wouldn't recommend you to shampoo your hair every time you take a shower. I would recommend you to shampoo your hair 2 or 3 times per week.
Personally, I prefer using shampoos made for children since they do not have very harsh chemicals, I also tried Kerastase products, they seemed to be working for some time in the beginning, till they stopped working and their effect was the same as using a shampoo bought in the supermarket.
I would also recommend Biotin supplements and rosemary water.
So far I have noticed a difference in my hair texture and the strength while doing those.
Also it doesn't harm to scalp massage your hair while putting argan oil or rosemary oil 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to washing it.

As long as you use a conditioner, you can shampoo your hair when it gets dirty and sweaty, or when you feel like it.

I bathe daily and shampoo my hair along with cleaning the rest of me. Your head sweats just like your body. I don't see any reason not to use a good shampoo and conditioner.

There are probably shampoos that strip too much. Don't buy the cheapest brands. Do a little Consumer Reports research and see which shampoos are rated best.

if you use a conditioner every time it shouldn't matter. try out different shampoos and conditioners. you dont need expensive stuff, but some really do leave your hair more dry than others. in my experience cheap shampoo is worse than cheap conditioner, and shampoo that doesn't leave your hair dry is more important than what conditioner you use.

wash in warm and rinse in cold. Hot water is very bad for your scalp and hair. Also, how often you shampoo depends on how much you sweat, how dirty your hair gets, how long it is, etc.

I'd say find a gentle shampoo, and never use hot water and rinse in cold - as cold as you can stand it.

I do sampoo every alternate days dear.

I started doing it from last 1 years with the help of my doctor.

i think you should consult your doctor for it and follow the procedure they suggest as all the people hair are different and need different care.

Def depends on your hair and the shampoo - I do mine twice a week and it’s pretty healthy. Don’t do it too much or you’ll get rid of the oils your need :)
