Can a hair be straight and wavy at the same time?

I dont understand my hair type if it is straight or wavy. Can it be a mixture of both? Is that normal or does mean I need to use curly method or something?

Well you have a similar hair texture as me. I thought mine was straight for many many years due to the fact that I used the comb or the brushes while I blow-dryed. When I started air drying it I noticed waves and even curls on irregular places. Other times it is just straight with little waves.
Also when I did the scrunch method it got wavy and lightly curly without even applying any products.
But when I brush it constantly till it air dries fully it is mostly straight. Go figure I dont know what hair type I have 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi, if you suspect it, it probably is... i would recommend after washing and conditioning squeeze dry only, apply a wavy hair creme or serum on the mid lengths and ends only, do this upside down head and scrunch dry the product in... let it dry naturally and see what you are left with,, if it turns out you have quite a wave i would recommend some long layers to show it off,, best thing i ever did was give into the curls/waves and forget those damaging straightners... xxx

If it's your hair in the picture it is just slightly wavy and appear straight towards your head when it's formed with it but appears wavy when it's hanging more freely.

Yes your hair can be both. I call it combo hair. Best thing to do is get the right haircut and style to showcase your hair. Also use products that can give your hair volume at the root mouses lifts etc. Im a Hairstylist so I have seen many different types of hair over the years.

I think it can be a mixture of both! Thats what makes your hair unique, if you'd like it to be curlier, I recommend scrunching Mousse in your hair after washing your hair. :)
