i wonder, wouldn't riding a horse make the cowboy hats blow off? i never wore that style hat. the wind can blow hats off so that would be annoying.
but sometimes i wear a light color sun hat with a 2 inch brim due to sun on sunny days.

If you specifically mean a Stetson then not so far, but I wear hats similar on occasion. They're well designed for summer and winter.
