At what age did you start to feel ugly?

Sometimes I still feel pretty.

But yesterday I took a photo of myself upon waking up I had not even opened my eyes yet, my eyes are still unable to open because of the light and still in dream mode but I lifted my hand 🖐️ with my 📱 phone and squinted with one eye to see the camera option, then I closed my eyes and just clicked on take photos and went right back to sleep.

when I finally woke up I went back to look at the photos 😨 I looked so ugly!! I never thought I looked so ugly before.

I always thought I look so pretty! Especially days I get ready.

sure there were days I thought I didn’t look so nice and maybe sometimes ugly. But not to this level.

Im about to turn 39 in about a month from now.
Most people always confused me for being 20 and these photos are for the first time telling me I look old. I see it in those specific photos.

how old were you when you started to think you look ugly? Or started to see it?

I’ve always had some insecurities about my looks and wished I was prettier here and there but never delved into it. Ironically enough I think once I started caring more about my appearance, the insecurities only grew because now I actually rlly cared about how I looked. I don’t constantly feel ugly but probably since I was 16, the feeling pops up quite occasionally. Even if I do makeup and dress up and take photos where I feel I look pretty in, I still just feel like a catfish, like that isn’t me and I wished that looked like me. I only looked pretty in the photo because of the makeup, posing and good lighting.

Honestly I feel like it’s such a common thing to feel ugly especially for women seeing all these beautiful women online and with all the beauty trends.

Having bloated 50 pounds, I was really ashamed of myself throughout my mid & late 30s.

I turned the tables around on that "ugly lard butt" soon after I hit 40 and kept shedding away pounds & inches since then.

With regards to my health, I'm so proud of myself (again) now.

Probably Jr. High. I think that's the normal age for the majority of adolescents.

I'd say that lasted till about 40 when I learned to stop comparing myself to other people. The only thing I dislike now is absurdity of some people. Who try to put thier hangups on me. So many people when get mentally healthy about who you are will try to gaslight you back. Because they're unhappy with who they are. And it's much easier to tear the rest of the world around them down then to try to build themselves up.

I felt ugly when I was a teenager, and when I was in 20’s there were days I felt pretty and days when I felt ugly. I was diagnosed with depression when I was 32, which explained a lot. I’m not ugly though, and I wish I had known that back when I was 20 instead of figuring it out in my late 30’s. At least I don’t think I’m ugly, I still have days when I feel very insecure but not as many

a lot of people have said I look younger than I am and I have never felt ugly. Could be because I live a healthy lifestyle or the "Asian Genetics". I turned 40 but I don't really feel older than I was in my mid twenties (although I recently felt being 40 on my boobs if you know what I mean :P ).

Couple of teen years… and around this time…because hormone is … just makes everything slow down and can’t seem to work… so..

I was ugly AF as a kid when I first got my period. My boyfriend didn’t believe me until I showed him a picture 😅. It was like I didn’t grow into my face until I was in my 20s.

Honestly about 20, it was just after I had my first daughter my entire body had changed and I felt quite gross, Im 33 now and I have 3 daughters now but I don't feel as bad as what I did back then.

I've always held the opinion that I looked unspectacular. Certainly not good by any metric, but not overwhelmingly ugly either. Just sorta... 4/10 territory. And I've never seen any evidence to the contrary.
