I have seen a few mainstream movies that included a bath scene in which an actress left her underwear on. In one case, she was getting in a bath with a teen girl and I guess the purpose of the underwear was to try to dispel the idea that there was a sexual motivation in getting in the bath together. In the other cases, I guess it was done to try to avoid an R rating for a movie.
In real life, that seems to be a very stupid thing to do.
