Personal thoughts are that clothes can't make a man look masculine, but they can definitely take away a man's appearance of masculinity. So, like, an effeminate man won't suddenly look masculine in "manly" outfits, but a masculine man can definitely look effeminate in "girly" outfits. My opinion weighs less than females opinions on this one though, so, grain of salt.

Context comes into it, or rather location. Shove someone dressed like that into Birmingham and or Manchester and they will look really stupid or be told the Gay village was a few streets up.

No. It makes him look like an idiot. It’s like when people all camo but are not in the military. You’re wearing an outfit that suggests you do something and you don’t. Speaking from person experience, I have rarely met a person who wears full cowboy garb and hasn’t been racist. I grew up in a small one horse town, I lived in Bakersfield, and spent my childhood summers in Texas, Arkansas Illinois and Iowa. The amount of hate I had to endure for no other reason than because I’m Asian was crazy. And now I get hate because I’m transgender. Yeah. Gotta love the good ol’ boy maga mentality.
