What do you think of the IDF?

Murderers
Now a little bit less of a 'militant stance':
But then again, you cannot blame the soldiers (although some have been so brainwashed that they have lost any kind of human decency). Don't forget that conscription is mandatory in Israel and it is very difficult, neigh impossible, to dodge that without being stigmatised by friends, family and society.
I have met a few who have left or turned against the 'Tribe'... I follow 'Gilad Atzmon' closely and we do talk occasionally; his story is very interesting... Same as that of Avi Shlaim, and Iraqi Jew would took Aliyah to Israel and became disillusioned. Miko Peled, another 1, he was special forces. They were either present from the beginning (Avi Shlaim), or had relatives who were there at the beginning (Miko Peled Grandfather is one of the signatories of Israel declaration of Independence; Gilad Atzmon's Grandfather was a prominent figure high up in Irgun)
The IDF is no longer the Elite Force it once upon a time was when they could still execute absolutely stunning military operations like the 'Raid on Entebbe'; the IDF is no longer able to fight conventional wars and will lose any confrontation with Hezbollah and/ or Iran (They can't even destroy Hamas, which is practically trapped in Gaza)... which is a very scary prospect because as soon as Arab armies invade Israel, Israel will activate 'Option Samson' and nuke all hostile Arab countries into the Stone Age: We'll have World War 3 then.
The 'Left-wing' Military is also slowly but surely being infiltrated by the Right-Wing Settlers; below the surface of Israeli society conflict is brewing, there is no unity in Israel. The Military is actually the organisation which has the most clear head and they fully recognise they do not stand a chance (at least, not before months and months of preparing).
I understand why they are so aggressive, but I don't appreciate the way they've hit the refugee encampments.
It doesn't matter if your enemies are a bunch of extremely well-funded assholes who have embedded themselves in innocent civilians, you can't tell people who have nothing to do with your war that they'll be safe if they go someplace, and then bomb that place to hit your enemies.
All you do when that happens is create future enemies.
Once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence, three (or more) times is a pattern.

Bless them all

Quite formidable. They have some neat equipment. They seem quite capable of defending their homes against medieval barbarians trying to kill them.
They are doing their job
Brave and formidable
War criminals
