I think a bigger percentage of people who might overlook you or not choose you are doing so because they ASSUME (and they might be right, and they might not be) that you are likely to share cultural and personality stereotypes common among black women, and it's those things - rather than your looks - that turns them off. And let's be clear: those same traits turn off men from women of other races too - it's just that these traits tend to be more common in black women than women of other races.
Those traits are:
- being masculine
- being loud and/or very opinionated
- being ghetto/white trash/ignorant
- having low morals and values
- being promiscuous
- aspiring to be "strong and independent"
- putting education and career over relationships/family
Again, I have no idea if these apply to you personally, but lots of men - including black men - find these traits a big turn-off - and these traits tend to be common among black women, though they are certainly found in women of all races.
Let's assume that you are NOT any of these things, but people see you and just assume that you are all those things. The way you overcome that is to just spend time around them, and let them see your actual behavior and learn about your actual morals and values. It will take some time and will take some effort on your part, but men WILL notice if you are not the things on this list, and they will move you in to the "exception" category, which is essentially a promotion to "relationship material" status.
It may be unfair that this is necessary, but like isn't fair, and you are certainly not the only one life is unfair to.

There's nothing wrong with you or the way you look, or or your race. That's just the way it is. It's like the time I went to a Cypress Hill smokeout back in the 90s. Almost everybody there was Mexican. I'm part Mexican myself but I look pretty white and kind of like a country fried hillbilly. None of the Mexican girls would even look at me because I didn't look like a cholo wannabe gangster. If you are somewhere where the majority of the people are black, I'm sure you will not have the same problem.

If you are in a country where most people aren't black, then you might be considered unattractive. Of course, this also depends on the individual, some men are attracted to black women and others aren't (including some black men).
In the western world black people are usually seen as ugly due to Eurocentric beauty standards, racism and stereotypes.

1 yI don't think being black makes any black person more beautiful or more ugly than a white person. I think if we seen ya we'd probably think you are very beautiful.

I'm really sorry that you're feeling this way. The idea that beauty is connected to skin color is an unfortunate and harmful stereotype rooted in societal biases. Everyone's unique beauty deserves to be celebrated, regardless of skin color. Cultural and individual standards of beauty vary widely, and what someone finds attractive is deeply personal. Many people see beauty in diversity, and your skin color is a beautiful part of who you are. Confidence and self-acceptance enhance beauty more than anything else. Never forget that you are worthy and beautiful just as you are. How do you feel about your own beauty?

Also there's non-black women who look really good and complain about not getting attention when what they really mean is they ignore all of the attention from guys they don't want so it's like it never happened.

1 yThat's in your head. There are people who consider you less attractive. There are people who consider you more attractive. Same can be said about white people. Redheads. Tall people. Short people. Muscular people...
The "why" doesn't matter.
00 Reply I don't think it's your skin color. People are attracted to what they are attracted to physically and that's not anything you can change. There are plenty of people who find dark/black skin attractive. You're beautiful to someone, probably many people but you just haven'tet them yet.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yHonestly for me it’s the attitude I’ve dealt w in a lot of black women. I know not all of them are like that but the ones I’ve met, attitudes like no other. Acting ghetto. No respect for people. Plus I like real hair. A number of them act like these female rappers. A big turnoff. I can’t stand the way they talk to patients when working w them. It’s like there’s always an attitude there w a lot of them.

1 yI think you're looking at it from an American perspective. Most people are attracted to their own race, that doesn't mean that other races are ugly. Plus there are so many different types of blacks so it's not a true statement, for example I'm not attracted to black women generally but one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen was black from Morocco. Simply put I think race is much less of a factor than say hygiene, weight, and personality.
00 ReplyThis is what white supremacy wants black women to believe, but black women are incredibly gorgeous.

MOST black women are obese, and I'm a black man typing this.
Anonymous(18-24)1 yBecause you're a woman and most people's experience with black women is some nappy haired ghetto girl being loud in public. They also have more masculine features on average, and their big ashy butts don't always make up for it.
