Why do sandals make my feet stink?

I find that sandals make my feet stink after wearing them for 30 minutes. This also includes rubber ones like Nike or new balance for in the house. Does anyone else have this problem?

It usually takes me a few weeks or so before they stink and that's because of the sweat that gets absorbed into the straps, etc. and, the dirt that I walk through getting kicked up and lodged under my feet. After it's been there for a while, it starts to smell. Even with leather sandals, even if I clean them after a short while. Apparently, wearing socks is the only thing you can do to stop it. I'm not even sure that works.

Honestly I’ve tried wearing socks and it doesn’t help at all for me. And my feet I keep them clean and yet they still stink in sandals lol

I had the same problem with shoes. I guess it was mostly because all I ever got to wear were some forms of sneakers. Even with sock all the time, it'd only take about a month before they'd start to stink, even if I washed my feet seconds before putting them on!

It happens with my Skecher's and those popular slip on odd colored footwear slippers so I use a foot powder to solve the problem.

I should look into that thank you. My feet also get sweaty a lot so I think that adds to the problem

Actually I am a clean person I shower often and take care of my feet. I think it’s to do with the material and the hot weather

I keep my feet clean I don’t have extra Bacteria or fungus or anything like that. How do I know you don’t have stinky feet? Lol
