Why does everyone wear smartwatches?

I've been wearing watches lately cause they look cool asf, but smartwatches? You have a cell phone and smartwatches are ugly so just why?

If everyone wore smartwatches, that would mean that you and I also wear smartwatches.

Neither you nor I do, ergo, not everyone wears smartwatches.

I've considered purchasing a watch or a ring that tracks and records physical vital signs.
In my experience, there is little that can be done to remedy sub-optimal physical conditions, so to me, having proof of suspected sub-optimal conditions could do nothing more than heighten my anxiety about them.

My $30 Timex wristwatch serves me extremely well in providing me with knowledge of the present time at a glance.
I only wear it when I'm away from home.

I do admire a finely crafted, high quality, expensive wristwatch when I see one, but I have no desire to own such a thing for myself.

I wouldn't own one of those if they gave it to me. I don't want a wi-fi attached to me 24/7. SMART stands for "Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology". I don't want to be tracked and monitored. I won't even have SMART devices in my home.

i wear smart watch for many other reason except just watching time.

1. it tracks my daily routine

2. help me with my fitness routine

3. helps me to check my O2 & ECG rate while i am working out

4. makes it easier to pick up calls or check incoming messages.

if I were out and about... more often for work, I would probably get a smartwatch as well, to do the work-related things

I would prefer that to a smartphone
