Buying a thong is a big deal? Where did you hear such a thing? Now, buying your first bra is a bit of a deal because you are young and this signals that you are becoming a woman. Most girls get what is called a training bra. It provides some shaping but also gets you used to wearing a bra. After that it isn't really a big deal. As girls develop we just buy new bras that fit properly. It isn't really a big deal after a while. Buying underwear was never a big deal. I don't really know where you get that from or why you think it would be some spectacular event in our lives. Did you ever screem yipee when you bought underwear? Neither have I.

I never screamed yipee. I only assumed because when I lived at home, I overheard my mom telling my sister she was not allowed to wear a thong, so I assumed it must be a big deal.
