no no don't use hair spray, put hair oil on your fingertips and the run them through just the ends of your hair before you put your curlers on or curling iron. i use Kristin Ess Anytime Anywhere and also her Subtle Shine

then spray with water not too much while the curlers are on and blow dry on cold setting before you take curlers out, you'll have curls for days

Wig or a perm, or live without curls. Those are your options kiddo. Tho I do get you, I hated that my hair never lasted straight as a kiddo and desperately wanted my hair to change over night.
