Why am I the only one to wear pump shoes in winter?

I used to wear dress shoes Sunday mornings to go to church with and buses did not come to my house that early in the morning so I would walk from my house to the mall and then take the buses that were running there. It was a long walk but I did not mind cause I was young and my body was strong. I had a friend who told me she got up at 4 in the morning to walk to church cause she did not want to spend money on a taxi there and buses did not run that early in the morning.
