Are we still held to a much higher standard dressing than men are?

I know the gap has closed, but I still think that we are held to a higher standard with looks than men are. I think that we are sometimes harder on each other than men could ever be. I suppose this may be the natural way. Do you think that we are held to a higher standard because it is innate, or do you think it is learned by the teachings of a culture. The ideas of what is beautiful tend to change with the times and styles. There is no doubt that we are expected to show certain parts of our bodies at times (legs but not too much) whereas for men this is sometimes discouraged. I suppose I just have a lot of silly thoughts running through my head before bed. What do you think?
