I have an expansive wardrobe, haha, I could name a dozen things easily, and differing depending on the venue.
Iâd say my favorite piece is a vintage letterman SWEATER (not the jacket weâve seen post-1980) from some now-defunct high school in Los Angeles. Letterman jackets are pretty iffy as an adult, because people will assume it was YOUR letterman jacket from high school, and youâre an adult who canât let go of the past and close the yearbook🤣 Like I remember learning the first week of college, DONâT wear your high school sports gear, you look like a dork when there are real Division 1 athletes walking around in the universityâs sports gear.
Love the look of them, but they donât really play on an adult. BUT in looking at some pictures in my momâs high school yearbook from 1955âŚ. the jocks all had cardigan sweaters with their letter down on the bottom left, not on the left chest like a jacket.
So I went on a long online mission to find one. It was hard, not just because theyâre an older item, but when youâd find them, itâd be in bad shape and stained, or the wrong size, or be a bad color scheme for me, or the most common was that it would be a marching band memberâs jacket, and with all respect to the band geeks, thatâs not the vibe Iâm going for.
But I finally struck gold. I found one in navy blue, which works on me. It was also a football jacket, which is my native sport, in very good condition, and the letter was an âSâ, which is also great since my name is Steve.

If I could change one thing on itâŚ. the 69, which was either the guyâs jersey number, or more likely his graduation class year, as the All-League patch is from fall of 1968, so if that was his senior season, heâd be Class of â69. But it just has that connotation to it where I hope people understand itâs a real vintage sweater, and Iâm not one of those lame, immature dudes whoâs like âOH MY GOD!!! It says 69!!! Like fucking! LololololololâŚâ🙄🤦ââď¸🤣 I actually had a drunk girl behind me at a concert loudly say âUGHâŚ69? What is this guyâs deal?â, and I couldnât stay silent, I had to turn around and explain it to her, lmao.
But other than thatâŚ. light wash jeans and white Air Force Ones, with this sweater over a white long-sleeve waffle shirt, thatâs always a killer for me. Never been complimented more on any item Iâve ever owned. Iâve had two people try to buy it off my back, lmao. I was walking towards Fenway Park for concert, and this car passes me and slows down. Dude in the passenger is like âDamn, thatâs a fresh jacket, bro! Is that Gucci or something?â And I was like ânah, vintage letterman sweater!â, and heâs like âDang, thatâs NICE, bruh!â and then as they were turning the corner, he leans back out the window and goes âYo, how much for you to take it off?â😂
To be fair, on the way out, a hick in a pickup truck with New Hampshire plates yelled âf-ggotâ to me as he drove by while I was waiting for the crosswalk light, so I guess itâs hit or miss, depending on the audience🤣🤣🤣
Heh heh heh... 69... heh heh heh...

It needs to adequately convey that I do NOT want to be messed with.
