When I was in highschool, friends of mine that didn't even need glasses would wear them as nothing more than an accessory. I thought some of them did look different and cute with them on.

I think sometimes people wear glasses that don't necessarily suit their face shape very well, but otherwise I think it's just like fashion and individual preference
