How should I go about makeup?

Okay so now that you all think I'm a loser for these questions haha

I'm naturally pale (my family joke I'm see-through in the right conditions) and it's winter here so I'm a bit lighter than usual (think around ~13C in tirtir shades.) Normally I like to do some darker makeup, I use a dark red-purple shade on my lips for example and limit the amount of blush I use, but I'm getting the sense that I look 'too pale' when I do this. I don't really know how to do my makeup to get around this, obviously I can't just slap on darker foundation, it'll make me look orange... any tips?
