What do you think of big, voluminous, '80s style hair?

Something similar to this:

I have naturally voluminous hair that is a texture similar to this, and not only have I never been a fan of the flatter styles that have been popular over the years on me, but my hair seems to fight it tooth and nail. So, I've started using hot rollers to create a similar look to this, and this seems to be one of the easiest to maintain looks I've done, and I like it.

I've also had something similar to this before (with the feathered/winged sides) and would like to do it again:

To the anon stating I shamed women whose hair doesn't align with my personal preferences, since I can't respond to your comment:

I didn't shame anyone. I just said I don't prefer the look of the more popular, flatter styles on me. Not that there's anything wrong with them, just that I don't prefer the look on me, personally.

Apologies to anyone who may have taken it that I take any issue with anyone else's hair type. I don't, this is just easier on my hair and more flattering on ME.

The examples you showed in the photos aren't bad. They actually look good. Some 1940s stars even had luxurious hair styles like that.

My wife was in her mid 20s in the 80s and said she used to like going with her friends to dance at clubs. I've seen a couple photos of her and the girls back then. Big hair was the thing. My wife has thick, curly hair, so it was easy to fluff up.
She was a hair stylist, so hers looked good, but we still laugh about it.

Even the 80s is vastly superior to anything around today. The 70s and 60s, even moreso and that INCLUDES the hair.

I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. I didn't typically hang around chicks with hair styles like that. I hung around hippie chicks who just let their hair grow straight and not mess with it. They didn't wear makeup either.

As for Farrah Fawcett, she was one of the most over-rated celebrities ever. I just looked her up ( to figure out how to spell her name ). I didn't know she died in 2009. She wasn't all that old.

As for natural hair, I also have hair that does not work being straight. It's very puffy and big. When I had long hair it was darn near as wide as my shoulders.

Very sexy but perhaps a bit out of style now. That said, if you like the look, by all means go for it if it makes you happy. I think it is important that it be touchable and not stiff with hairspray or products, but other than that have a good time with this.

How about the ridiculous hairstyles guys are going with nowadays: shave the sides and temples down to the skin, and then pile 3-4 inches of hair on top of the head, to try and make themselves look taller.. lol

BIG HAIR can go well with a pretty face as well as short hair, and any woman born with nice face and features is lucky to be able to wear both short and BIG.
