For jewelry, do you prefer silver or gold?

Whether it be your own or on others, do you prefer the look of silver or gold (any variation of each like rose gold is fine too). Personally, I can't stand the look of gold on me, so my rings are silver. What works for you though?

Silver color as a guy. Actually not even silver. I actually look for polished stainless steel, chrome plated, black chrome, or bronze in some cases. Why?

• I think yellow gold / rose gold looks OK on women but too feminine or old fashioned on a guy. Granddads pocket watch sort of thing.
• Bronze belt buckles can sort of take the place of gold on say a belt buckle. Same sort of goldish / brownish color family but easy to live with. Actually looks better when it gets beat up.
• Real silver is a pain in the ass. I have a sterling silver western dress belt The buckle, keeper, and tip are all solid sterling silver. I don't wear it that often so, when I do reach for it the damned thing is always tarnished and looks like crap. I have to polish it before I wear it and then make sure to keep my fingerprints off the metal. And honestly, I don't think anyone would notice or care if the metal bits were chrome or black chrome or stainless from 5 feet away. All of my cufflinks, tie tacks, and tie bars are some sort of variation of stainless or chrome with the exception of one set in a combination of yellow gold and silver with small diamonds... just in case I ever feel the need to use that option. The 2 bracelets I switch off all the time are stainless steel with black or brown leather.

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 I have not worn Jewelry since college (class ring) but now wear my deceased brother's wedding band, either on my index or middle finger as a reminder of him and my love for him as my only brother.

I really don't like yellow gold, I do think silver is really pretty but my favorite is white gold. It seems to have a richer hue to it than silver. Platinum is my second favorite lol I guess I have expensive taste.

It depends on what I'm wearing for clothes that would determine whether gold or silver goes best. for some clothes, like black, either would go well with your outfit.

I go with silver, I find gold to be a bit much, but it really depends on my outfit and mood. I have a really nice gold circet that I like to wear a couple gold necklaces, but most of my stuff is silver lol
