Why do only older white men (aged 50 and older) wear Hawaiian shirts?

Not so. If it's a great Hawaiian shirt, especially a vintage one, you see people 20 to 90 wearing them. I've bought a few for my 29 year old son. He loves them.

I run across them at thrift stores. It's a challeng to find great looking ones in good fabrics like linen and rayon. I have a few myself I've collected over the years.

They are boxy shirts, so some young men want their shirts to fit tighter. But if they're loose, you can layer them with other shirts and wear them all year long.

For casual fun... they are called Aloha shirts not Hawaiian shirts. You don't need to wear a suit just an Aloha shirt in Hawaii unless your a lawyer. I lived there for a year.

Each print has a different occasion.

I've NEVER seen a fellow older black man (or any non-white, non-older man) in a Hawaiian shrt. Maybe I'm sheltered in my assisted living centre?
