It seems like it's kind of a hobby that some women enjoy, similar to when they buy expensive handbags etc. Most men couldn't care less about that stuff, but some women seem to enjoy accessorizing themselves. Probably similar to how some guys make their vehicles high performance and lift weights beyond what's necessary for health and fitness. At some point it's a hobby that they enjoy.
