And did you know high heels were originally invented for men?

The history of high-heels is all right HERE.. Made by men for men. As far as I'm concerned they can have the damn things back. Since I also suspect they were made by a very cruel sadist with the most cruelest of tortures in mind. If anyone forced me into high heels I would scream for mercy and confess to anything they wanted me to within 5 minutes.

I just cannot do heels. They're awkward, they hurt, they're ugly (Most of them. Some of them are pretty but like, for a plant pot or something) and I avoid them as much as I ever possibly can. Which, these days, since I don't have to go anywhere all winter, is always.

BUT, that's just the opinion of this redneck, country girl who likes her pudgy little' toes to be nekked and run free through the summer grass. However, since it's winter they're snuggled into thick, warm fuzzy sox hidden safely away from the horrors of any lurking high-heels.

I am familiar with the origins of high heeled shoes. They go way back to ancient Persia but became popular among European aristocracy in the 17th century when men wore wigs and makeup.

In modern times, I think they make women's feet and legs look sexy and give women a confident, sashaying strut. 3" is tall enough, though, and they don't have to be spikes. 5" or 6" spikes are over the top. And I despise tall spikes combined with those god awful platform soles.

One of my girlfriends wore heels all the time. They didn't seem to bother her and didn't create any foot issues. Her feet were perfect.
One time, we walked around San Francisco all day, up and down hills. She was wearing 3" cork, wedge sandals and didn't have any issues at all.
One time I asked her why she always wore heels and she said she thought her legs looked funny without them. That was surprising because she had gorgeous, perfectly sculpted legs. But she was 5'1" and I think she was self conscious about her height, so heels gave her more self confidence.
Nevertheless, she looked sexy as hell in heels and she had lots of really pretty ones.

Well as soon as my tomboy era was over and I started liking pink and dresses again, I started loving heels too. I wear them on rare occassion and they hurt but they give me so much confidence and aura!

I have a pair of boots with platform heels and they look so frigging cool. I also like stacked heels, comfortable and classy. What I have problem with is those stilletos, I would wear them for revenge purpose only, like as a part of revenge outfit like Princess Diana.

When I have my adult money, I'll get cutout, wedge and mule heels too!

High heels can definitely be a love-hate relationship! They add a touch of elegance and confidence to an outfit, but their comfort level can be questionable😂. I appreciate them for their fashion statement and the way they can elongate the legs, but comfort always comes first. So, if your toes prefer the freedom of fuzzy socks, that's perfect too! If you can stand to wear them for short periods, go for it. But they are a dicey option if you have to walk in the street. I fell down stairs and broke a foot bone when I was 23 wearing some fuckmepumps. I've avoided them since for sensible pumps and only for rare dress-up occasions.

If you're walking the red carpet or on late nite TV talk shows, that's about how far I'd wear them! They're no fun to walk or stand up in. They LOOK hot, but are uncomfortable to walk in or wear.

I watched a lot of Gilligans Island and that girl wore them running in the sand, I assumed they gave better traction and grip... I was into dirt bikes so it made sense. I assume they'd be effective feeding the hogs as well, but maybe a little slippery. Im sure Georgia armani could fix that.

Looking ahead, they seem inapropriate to wear around a city with all sorts of holes and grates and such. Sometimes people take a concept and misuse it, ruining many feet and ankles. Ah, but that is great for business! city people... ugh

High-heeled pumps are the only kind of women's shoes that men get emotional over! They make your legs look great, they make your butt stick out, and they accentuate the characteristic female walk, or "gait." One of my past girlfriends had one problem: Her calves were abnormally short, although she was normally proportioned upwards from there, and she was beautiful and had an unbelievable personality. She always wore black patent high-heeled pumps, which helped solve her problem, and were as sexy as hell!

That said, I also love black patent dress flats! They are pretty, feminine, and can be just as sexy, and surely must be more comfortable than heels. If a woman can't wear heels, I'm fine with the flats!

Doesn't summer grass have seeds in your neck of the woods? We had to shear the border collie's feet to stop the hayseeds working in between their toes and festering. Even with boots we needed to have thick woollen socks to stop that. Barley grass was the worst and still got through the socks.

Yes, I knew that high heels were originally invented for men (just like makeup was invented for Egyptian Pharaohs - to look more "divine", and just like stockings were originally invented for European noblemen with white wigs).
Present-day "traditional men" think that high heels, makeup and stockings are "feminine", but in reality, all of those items were originally invented for men.

I prefer girls in sneakers, sporty girls are my type.

It depends. I like smaller heals and wedges, I think they make me look good, but I don't like wearing them for long. My heels always come off after a while lol. And I can't stand really tall heels. They are just to hard to walk in. And I don't know, I don't even think they look all that good

I think heels can be attractive, in certain circumstances, but they shouldn't be worn all the time. They should be saved for special occasions, if they're worn at all.

I also know they can seriously screw up a woman's foot with overuse, too, so I wouldn't expect any woman to wear them consistently. If she did, I would probably try to convince her not to, for her own (foot) health.

I bought a pair of nice blonde boots with 2" heels in Jr. High school and they were my fave shoes!! I don't think I was even 6' tall, by then. Maybe 5' 6".
As for some of the ones girl wear, like 4" heels, if that's what you wanna wear, that's fine but, some are just ridiculous! You're basically walking around on your toes.

My opinion is they often look great and can accentuate the beauty of a woman's legs, but it's also THE single WORST thing you can do to your feet. That's not "my opinion", that's science.

Of course, some woman will likely post how her mom wore high heels her whole life and never had a problem, or she has worn them for years and has no issues. Well, you'd be the unusual case.

I've worked at a few bars. I can't count how many times I've seen girls walk in wearing high heels and walk out barefoot because their feet hurt. I've also seen a shitload of girls sprain their ankle while trying to walk in heels drunk. If I ever own a bar, there will be a strict "no high heels or platform shoes" policy. They are stupid and a liability, and do nothing for me. A shoe is not sexy to me.

I do own a pair of heeled boots that have a two inch heel, but i almost never wear them. It doesn't help that I am already tall as it is. I dont want to be even taller, and besides, I suck at walking in them since I don't do it often anyway.

Although some models can be esthetic, I don't like high heels at all. I prefer the ladies to wear normal shoes, not to mention how bad high heels are for the feet and legs. By the way, no need to add I'd never want to even try high heels. Even a slightly elevated heel already disturbs me.
