Do your socks match today?

Question

Ok, so, like, I wanted to start today off on the right foot and all that stuff BUT it turns out it doesn't really matter even if I use both feet since they'll still get cold even with socks on!

See, I managed to notice this morning , even in a pre-caffeine early morning daze, as I was trudging through the subarctic tundra through perilous perils to feed the stoopid chickens, that there seemed to be much more than the 3 inches of snow that they had predicted to fall over night. Like, lots more. Like, about 10 inches, over the top of my boots down into my socks to freeze my pudgy, little toes more. Like enough to make me whine, fuss and complain all morning more.

I suppose in the big picture if that's all I have to whine, fuss and complain about then I am doing ok. But it isn't. There's more. I had to change my socks and I don't have any that match 'cuz they all turn up missing somehow. I suspect aliens. Or maybe it's the stoopid chickens I have to take care of. I mean I don't really mind taking care of them, except the going outside in winter part. But it's the chickens themselves. I mean, I love all animals. But I love chickens just not quite as much until they're in soup. And I know they think the same of me. They're little, mean pteradactyls. They just give me this mean, little look with their mean, little beady black eyes, like if they were any bigger it would be me on the dinner plate and not them. And then they'd laugh as they took my socks.

Now , I suppose in the big picture if that's all I have to whine, fuss and complain about then I am doing ok. But it isn't. There's more. Now, while I was whining, fussing and complaining about all this, my coffee has gone cold. And it's still snowing. And I just know chickens are plotting my demise. And my socks don't match.

And so I ask, Do your socks match today?

My answer to your question is yes and no 😄

Sometimes my socks have little different colored cycles on them and can't get mixed up after the wash.

The rest are dark colors I've bought over the years from different sources so they might be slightly different.

I try to match them up when putting them in my sock draw, but perhaps in bad light they might be paired up differently, but I'm sure the keenest of eyes wouldn't notice I might be wearing odd socks. 🤣

Yes, they do. I have over fifty pairs of socks, some have never seen the sunlight since they left the store years ago, so, if I lose one, I have several back up pairs. I cannot stand not having matching socks!

Until last month, all my socks matched; I had about 30 to 40 pair of identical socks. Thus, if I got a hole in one or lost one, it was no significant loss because the remaining sock could still be paired up with any other sock I had.

This past month, including today, I made some purchases of some heavy socks for the cold. 2 identical pairs I purchased about 3 weeks ago and 4 distinct pairs I purchased today.

Today yes yesterday no and that's because yesterday I had to work underneath the house and the right side of my body got wet a little bit and then my boot filled up with water. So my sock was wet, my foot was wet, so after I finished, I had to put on new pair pants and I just put one sock on So I can get home, take a hot shower.
And we matched after that though

The control freak in me prevents me from going out the house with unmatching socks. Even if I'm running late, I need to find the second matching one. Worse: if socks have a letter R for right and L for left (sports socks) they need to match my feet. Wearing them the other way round doesn't feel right.

My socks always match. I buy all black socks, at the same time. Like 20 or 30 pairs at a time. Then when I lose one or get a hole in one, I still have matching socks. No pairing them or anything.

@randomgirl42 my socks always match, since  for 'everyday' I wear Yoga socks . When I go somewhere, for a 'dress' occasion, I wear dress socks that match

I don't wear socks at home normally. I'm either barefoot or in my slippers, but my toenails match. I just painted them last night lol

i am not wearing any yet. My slippers match however. I have a pile of white sox that are all made by Dickies. This way I do not have to worry about matching them
