A guy is wearing a speedo at the beach. What is your reaction?

Question

You probably know the kind I'm referring to, a rather minimal form of men's swimwear briefs. The guy is either well provided or just 'happy' to be at the beach. It's rather obvious he's in a 'good mood'.

Girls, what do you think or what is your reaction? Do you feel embarrassed? Is it a reason for you to comment on it or giggle? Do you stare or look away?

Guys, what if it was a friend of yours? Would you say something or rather be amused yourself?

When I was in high school, I worked at a store that sold bathing suits to the area swim teams. Male swimmers wore Speedos.

In my experience, the only reason guys in the US don't wear Speedos is because of social pressure. Speedos are what most guys wear in Europe because they're more comfortable than baggy trunks and leave a better tan. Not unlike a bikini vs. a one piece suit on a woman.

One summer when I was in high school me and my friends all got Speedos and went to the beach every weekend. A teenage guy under any circumstance is bound to get unwanted erections. In a Speedo it's obvious. I spent most of the day tanning my back. When we walked around, all but one of us were modestly limp and well contained -- much less obvious than the guy in the photo. It wasn't as creepy as you say. There were always girls who wanted to talk. Towards the end of the summer a group of us even met and sunbathed together.

Only one of my friends had the problem you're hinting at. I mean, I got hard. It was unavoidable; there were hot girls all around, but no one saw my erection. Even when my friend was standing around, he always seemed to be half erect.

The suits were this style. We weren't this cut or showy.

If it was a friend of mine? Well first I would laugh at the speedo because it's rather dated fashion to me, so there's now way he's wearing that unironically. Second, this 'good mood', I'd rather not catch him being 'happy' that would be awkward. But if I did, well, I would throw a towel at him probably, or move 50 meters away from this rather unpleasant situation lol

if he's just well endowed, might glance at it at quickly but that's about it. speedos are very common where i live. if he's hard, i might point him out and crack a joke to whoever is with me. or i would slighlty laugh to myself and judge him for walking around like that. if he's confidentely walking around, could think he's a voyeur, and be unsettled.

wouldn't say anything if my friend has a large one in a speedo, but if he's hard yes. i'd tell him to cover up and make fun of him for being hard in public

I have honestly never seen a guy wearing one at the beach. Then again, I mostly stay on the boat. I just haven't ever seen it to my knowledge.

Americans prob rarely have seen a man wearing speedos.

I'd say if it were me or a friend that popped a tent, I'd tell them to put a towel around their waist.

I have always thought it was weird how a boner throws people off at the beach. I'm not talking about a guy running around pointing at his crotch or acting weird about it, I'm talking about the random boner.

To recap if you're wearing a speedo, make sure you can pull it off, and if you get a boner, even though it shouldn't matter, just cover up lol.

speedo swimwear is rare in the states. I was a swimmer so its the norm and a go-to for me. I kinda like wearing/promoting them. I have talked friends into wearing them, mostly as a dare/joke. They ended up liking them

If it was a friend of mine, I'd tell him to go back and put some shorts on or I'll join in when people laugh at him.

Now if I don't know him, I may say "what the hell is he thinking" to myself, but that's it.

It takes balls to do it, or just no sense of shame, whatsoever, I think it's probably the second one. My aunt when she was alive, said never to do that cause girls don't like it.

I remember saying "why would a man wear ladies underwear!" When I saw two men in speedos in Florida when I was little.

Best beach experience ever cause thankfully, those guys left and the girls were quite social. A speedo to me just looks like a "look at me" thing to do. But the people who look are probably laughing at him for good reason.

Hell, if Channing Tatum showed up in a speedo, I bet girls would still laugh at him. It's just not acceptable swim wear for men

Wouldn't even crack the top 10 of things I look at at the beach. Snobby comments aside, I've never had a reaction to seeing them. If I can wear a thong bikini without issue then a man should be able to wear a speedo just the same.

I do not see many guys wear them. If they do they look better on them if they have a slender body to go with them. I'm on our college swim team and we practice in Speedos all the time and think nothing of it even when we practice with the women's team. But they do not leave much to the imagination. If I'm at a beach or lake I wear running shorts or boarder type swim suits. What do you think about them on guys?

Am I at a beach in the South of France? A guy in a Speedo probably fits right in. Am I at a beach on Cape Cod in the USA? The guy in the Speedo is probably getting laughed at with much finger pointing from the locals. Be aware of your surroundings and decide if you want to fit in or be an oddity.

Lol! Omg, I live really close to the Canadian border and they just seem to have no shame. 🤣 A couple times I have seen Canadian men in speedos and their topless wives. And they were -old- couples. I mean, like, I'm still in therapy for it. 😳
