Who usually cuts your hair?

I cut my own hair. A group of us started in the military because we needed to change our appearance often and we never knew when we would see a barber again. So we bought the equipment and started doing our own hair and beards. I kept it up after I left the military. No time spent driving to the barber shop and back. No waiting. Zero cost after the initial purchase of equipment. And I get it the way I want it every time.

I usually give myself a hair and beard trim every Wednesday. It takes 15 to 20 minutes. I never show up looking like I need a haircut. It's really not that hard after you learn how to do it.

I usually go to a professional stylist for my hair. I’m picky about layers and shape, so I like someone who really understands my texture and face shape. I’m loyal once I find “my” hair person and I book regular trims instead of big drastic cuts. No DIY experiments with scissors at home for me 😂✂️

We have really had a hard time keeping a decent cutter. Several years ago, there was one lady that we were with for several years before that. We'd give her Christmas cards and a Christmas bonus, the whole deal. Then, she had to "retire" to take care of her family. After that we'd find a good cutter, have her for 3-4 sessions and then she'd quit/ move on/whatever. Then we're find someone else, etc. Just found a cutter who actually LISTENS at a great clips near our house. Time will tell if she is a keeper- her first cut was good, so we shall see.

We have a family friend who works as a hair stylist in a salon. She comes to our house and does both my and my wife's hair. We see her about every 6-8 weeks.

I go to Great Clips. It is usually someone different every time but in the 4 or 5 years I have been going there I have only got one bad haircut.
