Why do guys usually find girls with short hair unattractive?

I've found that when I get my hair cut into a pixie, most of my male friends tell me that I should grow it out cause it's too masculine, but the pixie that I get is usually an asymmetric pixie bob, with side bangs, like Rihanna or Ga-in of B.E.G.

It doesn't seem that masculine to me.

i forget my hair is in a pixie. I've had my hair short all my life but not pixie short until this year.

i really like it. I think its better. I don't feel comfortable with long hair anyway. it gets in the way. and it doesn't look good on me anyway. it just looks odd.

but I guess it depends. some guys will like it, some wont. I guess it depends if the girl can pull it off or not. but I think short hair is more interesting. it has more style and versatility. :D

long hair just carries a natural femininity, it is classically female and men are attracted to it the way they are to breasts and butt and hips.

do what you want and some girls look good with short hair but long hair is more classically feminine and attractive to men than short hair, even on a very pretty girl

We see short hair all the time on other guy's faces. And some women with pixie style haircuts just look like boys. I prefer long hair because it's something other than my self. My girlfriend in high school had long hair at first, and then her hair was the same length as mine. I still liked her and dated her for another year, but I liked her better with longer hair. Thought she looked better with it.

Forgot you were generalizing here. I think it's because long hair is equated with femininity and short hair looks more masculine I think.

You know, I don't get it either. Social conditioning perhaps? There's nothing feminine or masculine about hair length. Especially considering that both men and women had long hair until the mid-19th century.

Personally, I LIKE the way short hair looks on a girl. I PREFER it. I especially like when it's super short because it flaunts her pretty face.

It is not unattractive...it is just that longer is more attractive...more work, though, to have long hair...you will notice that most older females have short hair...sometimes that has to do with diminished hair health...but often times simply relates to convenience...females with short hair have romance, sex & marriage as well...but you will normally be seen in your best light with longer hair..(:(:(:

Women with short hair are unattractive, that simple.. I don't know why any girl would actually want to cut their hair.. isn't any girl actually willing to look attractive? Judging by the questions here alone...

it isn't necessarily. It depends on whether or not it suits you. Some girls pull it off some girls dont. Same way some guys can pull off long hair while others cant.

I think it's because girls are meant to have long hair (by society). BUT, some girls do look better with short hair. It all depends on how the rest of the girl looks like.
