Why don't guys like short hair?

Okay, I honestly don't understand why guys tend to not go for girls with short hair. I have short hair, it's a bob and a lot of people say it looks really good on me. I think I look good too. I don't want to say I never get hit on because I do but everyone always says guys like long shiny hair and they might find it weird if you don't have it. A lot of girls look good with pixie cuts and still have boyfriends so I know not all guys prefer long hair. A lot of famous actors go for short hairstyles and look amazing. I don't really care if a guy doesn't like my hairstyle but sometimes it makes me self conscious and I feel like I should grow my hair out just so a guy will like me which sucks.

This is my reasons why I thinks most girls looks better with long hair.
- It looks more feminine.
- Most women suits long hair better than short because of their head shape and facial features. Most men have a facial shape and features that makes them suit short hair better than most women. Many men suits both long and short hair in my opinion.
- It looks youthful, but at the same time mature enough. I sometimes associate short hair on women as old. Older women suits short better than young ones. Young girls who have short hair sometimes looks a bit masculine and boyish. Some boyish looking are very buff, but others looks like young pre-pubescent boys.

But up to you which hair you wants to rock. I just finds feminine women and masculine men often more aesthetically pleasing.

Every human being and creature with hair should have long hair: boy, girl, man or woman. I'm against the alteration of body hair for societal gain and status. I think it makes people more mentally stronger and that is a huge plus.

I don't even like hearing about women shaving their arm pits and legs and it bothers me when their mind feels great to do it. I expect them to be mentally strong and to me, that's weakness when you feel obligated to remove body hair, especially based on cultural acceptance.

My hair is now 2" from being down to my waist. My profile picture was from 2010 or 2011 and got gum and knotted up by not caring for it, which I now do. That's why it was way shorter there than it is now.

Im not a guy but I'm going to be honest here, some women do not have the face to pull off short hair. There are some women who can pull off short hair and make it look fabulous, but there are women who look a hot mess with short hair

I don't know. A guy I used to date said that short hair wasn't feminine so it wasn't ok cause it made girls instatly unattractive. It's just dumb in my opinion, if you have the right face for it short hair looks really good

Every guy is different. Like my boyfriend loves short hair. Which is good because it allows me to cut my hair short. And loves it every time I come back from the hairdressers. Always says I look sexy with my new haircut

Bob haircuts look good on women, though I still prefer long. Pixie cuts do not look good in 99% of women, you'd have to be gorgeous to be able to pull it off.
Guys prefer longer hair because it's more feminine.

I totally dislike a bob haircut on a girl, it just look unattractive to me, but that isn't a deal breaker, if a really like a girl, I can deal with it. In the other hand, if a girl has longer hair than average can be attractive just for it, there are some girls who wouldn't attractive for me if their hair weren't so long. Girls with bob haircut would be more attractive for me with short hair as well.

Long hair on women has become somewhat of a social norm. And, as you may well know, going against social norms isn't in everybody's scope.
In my opinion, it's a petty thing to reject or not pursue someone over. But everyone has their preferences.

One of my hypotheses on what makes very short hair like this look nice on girls is a long and slim neck and not such a round or square face. Another example is Keira Knightley:

It's something I've been casually exploring. I feel like short hair tends to bring the emphasis towards the neck and shoulders, and it's somehow helpful if she has a long and elegant neck.

I like pixie cuts for video game characters, that way you don't have to worry about the hair mesh clipping with any modded armors. I find them attractive in real life too.

There are always some people who believes in stereotypes. I doesn't believe in such stereotypes. But women looks more feminine with long hair by Western social standards, therefor many men prefer it.

Some guys do and some women can look great with short hair. But longer hair does seem more feminine. It'll like women preferring short hair on guys instead of long, because it's more masculine.

Having said that, do what you like/want. It's just a preference with most guys that's all. Example I prefer long hair, does that mean I won't date or go out with short haired women, no, because in the end it's about the person, not her hair. Again, it's just a general preference.
