My fiance doesn't want me to get a tattoo, what should I do? (Page 2)

Question

My brother was murdered 2 years ago and since then, I have been planning on getting a memorial tattoo in remembrance of him. I also am a recovering cutter, and want to get some writing near (not over) my scars. I finally have come up with exactly what I want, only to find out that my fiance doesn't want me to get any tattoos. He says they're unattractive. I love tattoos and don't currently have any, because I only want to get a few that will really mean a lot to me. I've tried negotiating with him but he seems to be set on it and just says "but I don't like them, they're really unattractive and meaningless".Should I get them anyway and hope he will learn to accept them? Or should I just forget it, even though it would mean so much to me and I've been planning on it for so long?

what a jerk! to call your meanings for ur brother who past away meaninless is pretty low of him. its your body and you can do what you want to it. don't let him tell you otherwise.

My boyfriend told me not to so instead of the little tattoo I was going to get I got my whole back done. I'm not a fan of people telling me what I can or can't do and if they want to control what I'm doing with my own body they can leave.
